The following includes your investments in giving our neighbors in the Midlands access to quality health care in 2017-2018.

wellpartners Dental and eye Clinics

United Way and our local hospital partners established WellPartners to provide free eye and dental care for adults and free dental care for children in Richland, Lexington and Fairfield counties. All services are provided to people who are under insured or uninsured and have limited income. In 2017-2018, 4,224 adults had their dental needs met, 1,426 people received eye care services or corrective lenses, and 886 children had their dental needs met.

access to Health Care

In 2017-2018, 2,800 patients used services at local free medical clinics, and 61% showed improvement in one or more health concerns, such as diabetes and high blood pressure.

United Way offered a prescription discount card in partnership with Familywize.  Since its introduction to the Midlands, Familywize cards has resulted in more than $3.8 million in prescription savings for 29,000 Midlands residents.
